How to Rotate Images Using Your OS

How to Rotate Your ImagesA request I often get in the photo lab is customers wanting to know how to rotate their images. Luckily, these tools are built right into Windows and Mac OS. So today I will walk you through correcting those rotated images.

How to Rotate Your Images Using Windows

So, luckily Microsoft saw this functionality as necessary and built it into their right click menu. If you have an image that you want to rotate, simply right click on it and there should be an option within that menu that says 'Rotate Right' and 'Rotate Left.' It really is that simple.

However, using the power of the internet, I can offer you much more comprehensive instructions. I found a very handy guide located here. Here's a video tutorial as well. The video offers a different process. So if you can't get the right-click menu to work, that is another option. With the internet, no knowledge is out of reach.

Now, if you're a Mac user it's a very similar process to Windows, but slightly different. So, you're going to double-click your image to open it. Then you're going to click on Tools in the menu. There you should see two options that read 'Rotate Right' and 'Rotate Left.' There is also a rotate button along the top of your image.

And just in case you're having a hard time following my directions, here is a handy visual tutorial. And of course, here is a video.
